Slept in today, which was glorious, particularly after how stupid late I was up yesterday. (Still up later than I planned, but hey, it's an improvement!)

Mucked out the chook coop, did some weeding, and ironed down the seams I made yesterday. Most of the day, however, I was finishing off that fic I was reading last night. It was a long one! (And it's unfinished, which is always disappointing.) But now I am free of it and I am going to pass the fuck out.

...of course, now is when Sushi decides to jump up into my lap and snuggle, which he hasn't done for a while, because. Of course it's now. Of course.

Yeah I'm up late because my brain got eaten reading something cool, as usual, blah blah blah.

Today I sewed together the panels for the blanket, finally! \o/! Also did the testing I needed to do, and both those things work well! :D (The first thing of tailor's chalk I found was actually Mama's, but according to her it's still like. 40 years old. XD;;;) Tomorrow I'll at least iron down the seams; hopefully I'll also at least fold stuff up in preparation for basting (if not actually start the basting!), but it'll depend on how much time I have. I want to get the chook coop mucked out too, and give how late it is right now... >>;;;;;;

Also! On a completely unrelated note! I got another phone screen for a job! :D Fingers fucking crossed I'll get an interview, yesssss. :D

Anyway, bed now! Sleeeeeep, yes. Sleep good.

I finally got the blanket and the pieces I'mma use to cover it ironed as well as they're gonna get today! It took FOREVER ugh. I also laid stuff out and have a cut line pressed in to one of the pieces, but I was feeling too tired to trust myself to cut it properly, so that'll be a job for tomorrow! I'll cut the other two pieces using this one as a template, too, so that'll be easy enough to do, too.

Still gotta do materials testing, but I'm waiting until the pieces are cut so I know where I can best cut off a scrap to test on, heh. Also hoping to sew the panels together tomorrow, but I have a dentist appointment so it might depend on how that goes.

Other than that nothing too interesting. My uncle is apparently doing okay, though we're not super clear exactly what's going on. But as long as things are going well that's the important thing to know!

And now is time for naps, yes. >: Dentist isn't until the afternoon, but I still want to be awake at a vaguely early hour so I can make sure to get my shit together and maybe even work on my blanket a bit beforehand!

Today I ironed my blanket. Twice. And I'll probably have to do it at least one more time, siiiigh. Two of the sides are really crumpled, so getting them flat again is A Task. :/

Also did one of the pieces of silk for the top, but I'm gonna have to do that again, too. I did it this evening, and it LOOKED like it was flat when I was ironing it, but when I went to fold it up and put it away there were still lots of creases :/ Just can't see well enough at night, alas!

So, lots more ironing in my future, bleeeeh.

Nothing super interesting other than that. I did watch a bunch more tutorial videos, so I'm hoping that I won't need to buy anything to get the goddamn basting done. Yes. That would be good. We'll see how it goes, though, gotta get the ironing done and the panels put together first, heh.

The tree people came today, as planned, and now the dead tree is gone, yay! :D Turns out it WAS rotting from the inside, which is what I was worried about, so extremely glad Mama and I insisted it had to go.

I also got to the bottom of my small mending pile today! :O Now there's only big mending projects to go!!! (At least until I next do washing, I will NOT be surprised if I find more stuff with holes in it. Sigh.) I want to try and get my summer blanket repaired before it's, you know, summer again and I need to use it, so Mama and I are gonna go down to the sewing shop and see if they have any advice. Personally I'm pretty sure I can just sew stuff on top, but given the size of the blanket and the size of our sewing machine I'd have to do a lot of it by hand, so Mama's worries aren't stupid either. Hopefully the sewing shop has a BIG machine you can use - that would be the easiest option. But if not I'm sure they'll at least have a better idea of how feasible repairing it is...

Anyway Mama wants to go in the MORNING, of course, so I am. You know. Up too late as usual siiiigh. Oh well, we'll see how it goes...

Lunch actually didn't take as long as I thought it would! It was still. You know. Over two hours. But considering we got the five-course tasting menu, that's really not too bad.

Also it was extremely fucking delicious, and absolutely worth being Out for that long. (ALSO also hideously expensive, but as my parents had been there before and were paying I am attempting to ignore that. Yes.)

But yeah even though it wasn't as long as I was anticipating it still drained my batteries hahahaha. Rest of the day was pmuch just reading and some minecraft.

And I'll give them this: you don't feel like you're eating that much with the tasting menu (even though it's also not a stingy serving!), but I didn't feel hungry at all until like 11pm, so you know. Definitely more food than a single meal's worth!

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY Mama had a good time yesssss :D

Mostly better today! Still not got a lot of energy, but I was able to do a bunch more than yesterday so that's good! :3

Not that I did anything too exciting, just reading and gardening and minecraft, but you know. Much better than being passed out all fucking day again!
